Countdown not sound

The countdown respects the assigned time of the measures, but does not sound.
Neither with the audio metronome, nor with the midi.
I don't know if it's just happening to me or if it's a bug.

Forums:

Works for me with the Audio metronome configured. In that setup, I also enable "Dedicated audio metronome outputs" and "Auto-connect". If you continue to have problems, it'll be helpful if you provide information about your setup.

It is the countdown that appears muted.

Working with Jack (I don't have Pipewire installed)
It is Qtractor 0.9.90. I currently do not have previous versions installed to know if there is a error in my Jack configuration.

I comment simply to leave the notice.
If it's something just mine, there's no problem. It is a functionality that I do not use. When I need it I create a midi fragment that fulfills that functionality. It is more versatile.

NOTE:
Explanation of why it is more versatile. You can do without reading it for the topic of the thread.

I record with a metronome only the first rhythmic base (midi drums or midi bass). It is preferable this way, because if you record acoustic instruments you prevent the metronome from sneaking into the recording.

If the arrangements are sneaked in it is less conflictive, it remains like a small delay effect that is almost or totally imperceptible.

I need a countdown in very specific cases, such as when the song begins with a solo instrument without accompaniment in the firsts signatures, or when there are acoustic instruments that must enter right in the first bar.

For the first case, the countdown is inefficient, because I need the metronome to last only a few signatures after the countdown and then be silent (avoid accidental recording of the metronome as much as possible).

As I said, for those cases I use midi fragments. With them you have total freedom.

Confirmed it is a configuration error in my Linux User session.
In the Linux Root session everything works correctly.

Windowsrefund, thanks for the feedback.

Take a look at the midi metronome countdown anyway. I haven't been able to get it to work there.

As I say, everything may be fine, but by confirming nothing is lost.

you surely need a MIDI sound module or instrument, to render the MIDI metronome... have you connected one?

byee

Countdown is set to both Audio and Midi.
As seen in the gif, the midi channel does not receive the midi signal from the countdown.
Audio countdown work correcly.

If it only happens to me it will be a problem with my operating system configuration (library versions, etc.) not with Qtractor.

I don't need to solve it for myself either, I have other ways to shortcut that functionality.

Greetings

oops, forgot to tell (somewhere, somewhen) that the MIDI metronome and count-in is only featured and applicable to external MIDI sound modules and/or instruments...

IOW. it just doesn't work (as it never worked) on internal MIDI instrument plugins, as I presume you have expected, even though you might insert a multi-timbral MIDI plugin instrument on the default MIDI output bus (Master Out) for the purpose; heck nope!

sorry

So everything is fine. :)
Thank you
