I cannot save while inside the clip editor. Is this correct?

Yep, that's what I meant. I can't save the project from within the midi editor.
Now I know for certain. :)
I would suggest removing that toolbar from the editor in order to reduce cluster, duplication, and associated confusion. You can always export a given clip from the arranger window itself.
as simple as turning View > Toolbars > File : OFF (on the MIDI clip editor ofc.)

oh believe me, I know :) Being able to strip things down to this extent is one of my favorite things about this environment. Thanks again.
